Cynthia SquireSenior Lawyer

Cynthia began her professional career in the health services industry and was certified as a Laboratory Technologist in 1997. Seeking a further challenge, she completed her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science (obtaining High Honours) at Carleton University in 2003.

Cynthia went on to graduate with an LL.B in 2010 from the University of Ottawa. Cynthia was a sole practitioner after her Call to the Bar and her practice focused predominately in the area of Family Law. Prior to joining Lister Beaupré Cynthia worked in a boutique firm in Ottawa as a family law practitioner. Cynthia mentors students with projects for Pro Bono Students Canada as well as internship students from the University of Ottawa.

Cynthia offers extensive services in the area of family law including child protection matters, negotiating settlements, paternity agreements, marriage contracts & cohabitation agreements, contested custody & access matters, obtaining & enforcing child & spousal support for recipients as well as assisting payors with actions against the Family Responsibility Office and litigation/trail matters.

Outside of work Cynthia is an engaged community activist having volunteered on Boards of Directors with local daycare centers, coaching youth soccer as well as numerous social justice initiatives. In her spare time Cynthia enjoys spending time with her family, practicing yoga and playing her bagpipes with the Sons of Scotland Pipe Band in competitions and events internationally and in the Ottawa region.
